A closet staple vintage cocktail dress of weighted
silk in the most gorgeous jewel tone pink.
Impeccably tailored by Alper Schwartz, this dress
was sold at Ransohoffs, an upscale San
Francisco women's boutique. Wide cut neckline
and darted, 3/4 length sleeves. Inset waistband,
with a swag on the left hip, and mimicking gathers
on the other. Metal back zip and pinked seams.
This dress is finely tailored, and expertly
constructed. No doubt a pricey dress in it's day!

Alper Schwartz designs were offered at such
great fashion retailers as Oppenheim Collins,
Bonwit Teller, and DePinna's. In the early 50s
they retailed at about $50 in the "Better Dresses"
departments of the aforementioned retailers.

Dress is in
very good condition. The only notable
flaws are three very small smudge marks on the
front of the skirt. I have not laundered this dress,
and am almost certain that these spots will come
out or fade with a dry cleaning.

This gorgeous dress measures:
41 inches from top to bottom,
15.5 inches from top to waist
13.75 inches from shoulder to shoulder,
18 inches from armpit to armpit
17 inch long sleeves
26 inch waist
up to 38 inch hips
and 37 inches around the bottom hem (not
including small kick pleat in rear)
