Bob Mackie Robert Gordon Mackie was born in 1940 in California. Mackie is known as one of Americas best costume designers, designing costumes for some of the worlds top stars like Cher , Liza Minneli or Diana Ross. His designs stem from the 1980s with an emphasis on glamour and sparkle.

Bob Mackie is a master at creating imaginative rhinestone sparkling evening gowns and dresses or costumes. Designing both for TV and celebrity shows he designed the costumes for 11 years for the entire run of The Carol Burnett Show.

Bob Mackie has a huge client list with stars wearing his gowns on the stage like Whitney Houston or on the red carpet like Oprah Winfred. One of his most famous creations are a range of Barbie Dolls which are highly collected from the mid 1990s.
