Donald Brooks was born in 1928 and started his career by designing Sports wear, by 1959 he was working for Townley Frocks, soon after this brief appointment he started his own label and opened his first store in 1964.

Donald is best known for his costume designs which his acclaimed designs have been celebrated by Oscar nominations in 1963, 1968 and 1970.

Brooks loved the sense of the dramatic influenced by his time designing in the Theater. In 1971 he started his first Boutique line, within this period until the 1980s he designed under several licenses.

By 1986 he moved his ideas to design a line of evening wear perfect for his talents as he loved a sense of glamour.

Finally in 1990 he went to work for Ann Taylor as a consultant where he was highly though of as a top American designers. In 2005 Donald Brooks sadly died leaving a legacy of fashion behind him.
